Black eel skin rectangular bag with two top carry handles, circa 1970s vintage.
Flap top closure with gold tone metal push latch, the top folds back, exposing top zip closure.
Black jacquard fabric interior with an elastic edge pocket on the inner back wall to secure smalls.
Eel skin hides are aligned vertically along the body panels, horizontally on the top panel.
Smooth leather (cowhide) along the side seams, inner top panel and bottom panel.
Handles and handle attachments are also leather; buckles connecting the handles to the bag are gold tone metal.
All panels (sides, front and back, top and bottom) are rigid.
Top zip expands beyond both sides, with additional length tabs snapping to the side panels.
Metal feet protect the bottom.
Bag shows wear and use, especially along the side seams and edges, see photos.
Three of the five metal feet are missing, as shown.
Some light nicks and scuffs throughout.
Some fading to the top eel skin panel, also a few darker spots on the top panel.
Fairly well made and quite solid- this has a very cool broken- in look.
Excellent as a gym bag, carry- on, overnight bag, valise, larger train case or doctor's style bag, etc.
Measurements:
17- 1/4' wide
10- 3/4' high (excluding handle, feet and latches)
8' deep
the handles add about 7- 1/4' in height
